Os hospitais filantr\u00f3picos e as Santas Casas, respons\u00e1veis por 70% de todos os atendimentos de alta complexidade realizados pelo SUS, viram sua situa\u00e7\u00e3o financeira ficar ainda mais comprometida com a pandemia e a acelera\u00e7\u00e3o da infla\u00e7\u00e3o. Segundo a Federa\u00e7\u00e3o das Santas Casas de Miseric\u00f3rdia e Hospitais Beneficentes do Estado do Paran\u00e1 (Femipa), nos \u00faltimos seis anos, 315 hospitais filantr\u00f3picos fecharam as portas, reduzindo sete mil leitos do SUS.
