Social investment accounted for 47% of the funds allocated to projects at Pequeno Príncipe

Direct contributions and investments made through tax incentives supported improvements in safety, infrastructure, and care areas throughout the year

Throughout 2025, Pequeno Príncipe Hospital carried out a strategic set of construction projects and structural upgrades that strengthened safety, operational efficiency, and the quality of care provided to children and adolescents from all over Brazil. Of the total invested in projects during the period, 47.3% of the funds came from social investment — through direct contributions and support for projects made viable via tax incentives, such as Para Mais 100 Anos (For Another 100 Years). The figure underscores the fundamental role of philanthropy and institutional partnerships in enhancing the quality of care and ensuring structures increasingly suited to highly complex pediatric medicine.

“These investments represent much more than physical improvements. They ensure safe and appropriate conditions so that we can care for children and adolescents with excellence, even in a scenario of underfunding for highly complex pediatric care,” highlights Ety Cristina Forte Carneiro, executive director of Pequeno Príncipe Hospital.

The interventions covered different areas of the Hospital and focused both on modernizing spaces and on meeting technical and safety standards — essential aspects for a highly complex pediatric institution that operates continuously and serves primarily patients of the Brazilian Public Health System (SUS, abbreviation in Portuguese).

Safety

Among the main highlights are the projects aimed at fire safety, such as the completion of the ramp that connects the six floors and creates a safe evacuation route, the installation of fire curtains, improvements in circulation areas, and structural interventions. These improvements were part of the scope of the Para Mais 100 Anos project, made possible with funds donated through tax incentive laws, and increased safety for patients, families, and professionals.

The electrical infrastructure also received significant investments, with modernization of panels, installation of redundancies, upgrades to the lightning protection system, and implementation of a new transformer, ensuring energy stability — an indispensable condition for the continuous operation of high-precision medical equipment and for the safety of care areas.

Upgrading care spaces

In care delivery areas, projects included the central courtyard, coverage of outdoor areas, and interventions in the Surgical ICU. Improvements were also carried out in the orthopedics outpatient clinic, upgrading care spaces and contributing to greater comfort, safety, and efficiency in care flows. Renovations in administrative and support areas completed the set of investments, essential for the Hospital’s integrated operation.

More than physical improvements, the investments made in 2025 represent a shared commitment to the sustainability of Pequeno Príncipe and to the right to health for children and adolescents. In a context of underfunding of highly complex pediatric care, investor support is decisive for the institution to continue providing safe, efficient, and humanized care.
