Goals for Life Program

Gols_pela_VidaWith the inspiration and support of Pelé, the Goals of Life Program was launched to serve as a platform to mobilize resources and people in the cause of children’s and adolescents’ health. Aspects of the program include the Pelé Medals Project, Goals for Life Team, Goals for Life Soccer Cup, and Goals for Life Gala. The international cooperation through the Goals for Life Program can happen on the below ways:

Medals Project

The first project of Goals for Life was a successful sale of replicas of Pelé’s medals. A total of 1,283 medals, each one corresponding to a goal scored by Pelé in his career, were sold to the public with the profits going to Pelé Little Prince Research Institute. The medals were manufactured by the Casa da Moeda do Brasil (the Brazilian Mint), in gold R$ 3,000 (US$1,250) in silver R$1.500 (US$830), and in bronze R$700 (US$290). The medals come with a certificate of authenticity and are sold at special national and international events or on the Goals for Life website: http://www.golspelavida.org.br

Goals for Life Gala

The Goals for Life Gala features a gourmet dinner and entertainment with world class chefs and musicians, held annually to support Pelé Pequeno Príncipe Research Institute. The event’s patron, world renowned chef Claude Troisgros, invites other famous chefs to participate in the gastronomic extravaganza. The first Gala was held in Curitiba, from there it moved to São Paulo, Paris, New York City, and Rio de Janeiro. It will be held again at the Gotham Hall in Manhattan on October 1, 2015.
