Since the founding of the hospital in 1919, Little Prince Complex has received funding from the public and private sectors, individuals and foundations. Some of these donors have become true partners in our mission to provide the best in health care for our children and adolescents. Major grants been given for buildings and facilities, as well as for specific research projects, some of which have resulted in ground-breaking procedures and treatments for childhood disease.
In 2000, to take advantage of growing interest in meeting social responsibility obligations on the part of many companies, Little Prince Complex created a department dedicated to raising funds for specific purposes and also to fill the gap of some 30% between the amount provided by SUS (National Unified Healthcare System) and the cost of providing services to all. Little Prince Complex has always maintained a policy of complete transparency with its donors and the public at large, providing specifics on amount of funds raised and their purpose.
